At VivaTrades, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use our backtesting platform.

Your Trading Strategies & Intellectual Property

Your strategies are YOUR intellectual property. We never claim ownership, copy, or commercially use your trading ideas.

Backtesting (Stocks & Crypto)

• Your strategy is sent to our server for processing (we need to run computations with historical data)
• Not stored permanently: Your strategy is used only for computation and immediately discarded after results are returned
• Not logged: We don't log, analyze, or retain your strategy details in any database
• Not shared: Your strategy is never shared with third parties, other users, or used for any purpose beyond your backtest
• Computation only: Strategy exists in server memory only during the backtest request (~1-5 seconds), then is garbage collected

Paper Trading (Temporary Storage Required)

• Why we store it: Paper trading simulates live trading over days/weeks, requiring us to monitor your strategy and execute simulated trades
• What we store: Your strategy configuration and simulated trade history (stored anonymously)
• How long: Only while your session is active. Inactive sessions are auto-deleted after 90 days
• Your control: You can delete your paper trading session and all associated data anytime from the dashboard
• No commercial use: We never use your strategy for our own trading or sell it to others

Local Storage (Your Browser)

• Your saved strategies are stored in your browser's local storage (not on our servers)
• We have no access to strategies saved in your browser
• Clearing browser data will delete saved strategies

What We Don't Collect

• Personal trading data: We don't collect information about your actual trades, portfolio, or investment decisions
• Account information: VivaTrades doesn't require signup, so we don't collect usernames, passwords, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Financial information: We never request or store bank details, brokerage credentials, or payment information

What We Collect

We collect minimal, anonymous data to improve our service:

• Usage analytics: Anonymous metrics like number of backtests run, pages visited, and features used (via Google Analytics).
• Error logs: Technical error information to fix bugs and improve reliability.
• Device information: Browser type and screen size to optimize the user experience.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for basic functionality and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how users interact with our platform. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics: For anonymous usage statistics
• Market Data Providers: For historical stock and crypto price data (no personal data shared)
• Groq AI: For AI strategy generation (only your prompt text is sent, not stored)

Data Security

• Encryption: All connections to our website use HTTPS encryption
• Minimal storage: We store minimal data (only active paper trading sessions), reducing breach risk
• Anonymous storage: Paper trading data is stored without any personally identifiable information
• No strategy retention: Backtest strategies are never permanently stored on our servers

You Are In Control

Since we don't require signup or store personal information, you have complete control over your data:

Paper Trading Sessions

• View your data: See all active paper trading sessions and their performance from the dashboard
• Delete anytime: Stop and permanently delete any paper trading session with one click. This removes all associated strategy and trade data from our servers
• No questions asked: You don't need to contact us or provide a reason to delete your data

Saved Strategies

• Stored locally: Your saved strategies live in your browser's local storage, not on our servers
• You own them: Export, backup, or delete your strategies anytime without needing our permission
• Clear anytime: Use your browser's "Clear browsing data" to remove all saved strategies
